while uploading the photogr. story of mr. bean i stumbled over this which i had in the 1cy michahellis gallery - possibly wrong? could it be in fact an advanced male 1cy cach with that pure grey scaps, replaced tertials and nice contrasting mc-row (such a pattern well being within cach-variation).

Hi Lou,
looks a bit chunky, with a big eye and shortish stron bill...but maybe a more relaxed pose could reveal something different!
The bird behind in the first pic looks very interesting: thayeri P 10 in 2nd winter plumage??
