Gull in Varna, Bulgaria

Post by vuelvepiedras » Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:39 pm

Hi all dudes,

can you help me to assess this gull's identity? The pics has been taken in Varna, Black Sea Coast, 4 days ago.

Thanks!

I am sure, it is a Herring Gull. Droven by bad (cold and snowy) weather conditions from the Baltic to Bulgaria.

Thank you, it's also my opinion. This bird was in company of many Caspian Gulls. A little paradise for my spanish eyes..

One of the first records of argentatus in Bulgaria, I guess.

Best regards!
Gabi

The young one in backround of image 2 seems to be a YLG.

Yes, I omit the YLG...my attention was focused in cachinnans.
